This column is the second series of columns by Beatrix Fife, a musician and painter based in Tokyo.
Beatrix moved from Rome, where she spent her childhood, to Paris at the age of seven.
This column is about the time when she went to Norway, her mother’s hometown, after graduating from high school in France. She describe how she started painting when she encountered a new culture and language.
